The Making of Men
Ken Graves, Eva Lipman,Germaine Greer

The Making of Men propels us to look beyond the accepted narratives that lie beneath our daily rituals and code of conduct, using photography to reveal the construction and perpetual reinforcement of the male identity. Ken Graves and Eva Lipman merge their photographic appetites and abilities to capture the rituals, ceremonies, and moments in American culture wherein boys are made into men. As photographers, they are preternaturally alert to the almost atom-sized moments when individuals make choices or negate them, question them or simply give in, and individual identity is formed. The Making of Men gives us the slivers of experience that help build the social and cultural superstructure that currently defines manhood in America.
